What is the 2006 World Cup FOOTBALL GLOBE?

The 20 metre high, 60 tonne Globe, realised by multi-media artist André Heller, is an integral part of the artistic and cultural programme organised by the Federal Government and the 2006 World Cup Organising Committee (OC) to accompany the tournament.

TELEVISING the 2006 FIFA World Cup

HBS (HostBroadcastServices) under French managing director Francis Tellier has been responsible for all World Cup television broadcasting since 1998. A total of 41,100 hours of television programming accompanied the 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan, filmed by 260 cameras operating out of 10 mobile editing suites. The 2002 World Cup was watched by a cumulative total of 30 billion viewers, with 1 billion for the Final between Brazil and Germany. TV rights for the 2006 World Cup have been acquired by international sports marketing agency Infront Sports & Media.
